Northeastern Pep Band has been a regular fixture at the school’s sporting events and Boston community parades since 1958. Their repertoire includes dozens of songs ranging from old marching band standards to covers of Top 40 pop hits and classic rock jams. The majority of the members of NU Pep Band are non-music majors and many of them played in concert and marching bands in high school. Enrollment is open to all levels without an audition.
You don’t have to go to just a hockey, volleyball, or basketball game to catch them in action. The pep band has also performed at events for the Theater Department, the RSA, and the Catholic Center. They’ve even collaborated with the music associations at other local colleges like Boston University, Boston College, and Harvard. The NU Pep Band, a regular fixture at the Roslindale Day Parade, has also won many school-wide music awards, like the Husky Leadership Award in 2008 and the Program of the Year Award for “Huskies Gone Wild”.
